On how the allegation came about.
What happened is that Genny and I were in a club in Lagos and her phone got missing. Later, I think a paparazzi or someone got hold of it and started sharing some contents about me and Genny online. I don’t see anything abnormal in the pictures but people started talking that we must be lesbians and all.As normal persons and friends, we do take normal pictures at home and in other places but I don’t know why the online magazine showed Genevieve and I kissing, I am surprised and don’t know where they got those pictures from.We kissed, but it was nothing extraordinary, it was normal kiss between girls. I mean girls do kiss each other normally, even guys do too. When I was dating Fally Ipupa we used to kiss and now that we are separated and are good friends we still continue kissing like we used to. My fear is I receive strange calls saying that in a few days’ time they will be releasing more pictures about us.You still received calls over the incident?
I am a very popular figure in my country and a lot of people are jealous of me. So many of them would like to see me go down and this may be a good excuse for them to start something.

When they call you on phone, do they ask for anything or sound like blackmailers?No, just to say they will expose our dirty secret and I don’t have any dirty secret.

If you have no dirty secret why are you now scared?You don’t understand, even the pictures they released online was worked on, adulterated to make it look different from the actual pictures. We kissed as normal girls, not as romantically or sexually as they projected in the pictures posted online.

What is the relationship between you and Genevieve Nnaji?We have been good friends since 2004. We met when Kenis Music organised an award and since then we have been good friends. We talk often and whenever I am in Lagos we meet up and have fun as friends. I have had no peace since the pictures leaked online. Everybody now calls me Genny’s wife back home.

NAFDAC Set To Arrest Dencia Over Illegally Selling Her ‘Whitenicious’ Bleaching Cream

 The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is looking to arrest Nigerian-Cameroonian singer Reprudencia Sonkey aka Dencia. The warrant has to do with the singer selling her controversial Whitenicious body cream in Nigeria, which the agency says is illegal. While speaking at the recently held Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Insurance Convention, the Director-General of NAFDAC, Dr Paul Orhii said the agency will arrest the Pop singer if they lay their hands of her. ‘There is this Cameroonian singer that has been going around with a cream. if I get her, she’ll be arrested’, he said at the conference, which held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.‎ Orhii also accused Dencia of selling a product that causes skin cancer. However, this is yet to be medically proven. Dencia’s Whitenicious is a pigment-whitening cream created for individuals who want to lighten dark spots or even their skin tone. The product has stirred a lot of controversy in local and international media in the past few months.

NET reached out to Dencia who referred us to her reps. Team Dencia says NAFDAC can’t arrest the Pop singer. ‘Whitenicious is not made in Nigeria and has no connections with Nigeria. Doesn’t Nigeria have more problems than worry about Dencia? Arrest Dencia lol how do you arrest a US citizen? Smh African leaders need to focus on Africa and stop joining the bandwagon for fame’, a rep for the singer told NET via e-mail.‎ As for the accusations on selling a product that causes cancer, Dencia’s rep says the agency is committing an act of defamation against the singer’s brand. ‘Whitenicious has been in the market for under 7 months and all these vicious lies and attack someone will pay for it and maybe it will be NafDAC incase they didn’t get a simple law class you don’t make such comments about anyone and their business especially because no one has had any cancer like they claim. This is defamation’. Her rep then goes on a full-scale rant: ‘They need to study more and talk less. Nigeria has more issues than Whitenicious, Nigeria has worst pollution that Whitenicious, maybe he can put his energy into fixing roads and giving the masses clean water and lights to keep them healthy since he is worried about a cosmetic that isn’t a drug. Where is Dencia selling the products in Nigeria? Does she have a store there? Why are people so pompous? He (Orhii) should get a life or maybe get laid by his wife or side chicks. Dencia doesn’t care and wouldn’t even give it any attention because it is that irrelevant’. The pop singer is currently in the US, where she’s based.
