reaching us from Thailand say a prisoner died after swallowing 20 condoms with
drugs.
PM News provides, with reference to
the local edition Bangkok Post, that the inmate identified as Anukoon Pasookf,
had one or more condoms with methamphetamines burst in his stomach which
resulted in his death.
According to Bangkok Post, the
deceased was sentenced to life imprisonment and was fighting his case in the
Court of Appeal. The prison director said Anukoon was taken to testify before
court on Wednesday and as usual his cell was checked but nothing was discovered
there.
Officials believe the man swallowed
the drug on Tuesday to hide it from guards because he was due in court the next
day. It was discovered only after the autopsy: the condoms contained at least
165 grams of the illegal substance.
