Ghana’s Black Stars lost their first match of the 2014 World Cup with a 2 – 1 defeat delivered by the USA. The match kicked off with a shock 1st minute goal by Team USA‘s Clint Dempsey.
This seemed to destablize team Ghana as they failed to equalize in the first half.
With renewed zeal in the second half, Ghana’s André Ayew
equalized in the 82 minute but while Ghanaian fans were relishing the
moment, the USA sealed their win with a 86th minute goal by John Brooks Jr.
Ghana currently occupies the 3rd
position in Group G ahead of Portugal who suffered a 4 – 0 thrashing by
Germany earlier in the day.
