Pilot Was Arrested, Fined For Taking Off His Clocthes At Airport

The pilot was arrested after he stripped naked at an airport in a protest over being unnecessarily searched by security personnel at the metal detectors.
As Capt. W van Ginkel who works for South African Airways (SAA) was arrested at the Harare International Airport, it took several hours for a replacement to arrive and fly the 90 passengers across the border into South Africa.
According to reports, Zimbabwean national police spokesperson Paul Nyathi said: "We have arrested one person at Harare International Airport this morning in connection with misconduct. He has been charged with criminal nuisance and has since deposited a fine."
It was gathered that van Ginkel set off the metal detectors as he walked through. Witnesses say that after removing his shoes, he was instructed to remove his belt. As he became frustrated, he removed his pants and remained in his underwear.
The flight had been delayed as officials were concerned the pilot may be mentally unstable.
South African Airways spokesman Tlali Tlali said the airman had been charged with indecent exposure and fined. He has been working for SAA for 19 years.
